The Origin of Main Engine Press, our Project Mercury
Main Engine Press originated from an idea in 2004. In the second year of college as an English and Art student, I imagined a print shop capable of taking ideas from concept to launch to landing. With life-long interests in printing, language, art, applied science, rocket engines, jet engines, and the space age, the name and shape of the print shop was obvious: Main Engine Press. The motto was also obvious: Ad astra per aspera. Translated from Latin, it means "to the stars through hardships."
The second stage of Main Engine Press, our Project Gemini
Following graduation in 2007, a global economic recession, and taking every job available, several years of work as a freelance artist and a principle designer followed. The focus was learning to meet requirements from clients for whom quality, deadlines, and cost were critical. In 2017, it was clear to me that Main Engine Press was ready for launch.
The Launch of Main Engine Press, our Project Apollo
From our facility in Ohio—the home of both of the inventors of powered flight and also the home of the first human to stand on the Moon—Main Engine Press now serves customers from all around the world. We are fast, responsive, adaptable, affordable, and—best of all—we are really, really good at what we do.
